We like the work of swedish fashion photographer, Camilla Akrans. Featured on Trendland, she has shot for the industry's leading magazines such as Vogue, Bazaar and Numero. Someone described her images perfectly in the statement below:
A Romantic aesthetic influencing an intimate suggestiveness and warm approach along with a rare female gaze in fashion photography. From sensual framing and movement to softening the feminine form further into an ethereal mythology where it’s only ever belonged.
There's something about her photography that evokes a strong emotional connection to the images. They're just too beautiful not to share. To view her full portfolio, visit Management + Artists website.
No need to tame your wild side, let your animal instincts roam free. Inspired by our Kate Moss Look of the Day, we're all about leopard right now - day or night.
Use it as an accent or as a core piece of your look... On your feet, let us suggest the KINI, the TURMOIL or the FURRTILE. Our espadrille, a wardrobe must, is a strong compliment for a casual look, paried with your new (or resurrected) flared jeans and a basic tee. Try the heels with a black skinny pant or knee-length pencil skirt.
Any style you choose, step out with an unexpected touch of print and a confidence to match. Your inner roar will be heard from miles away.

Introducing Rushka Bergman. Rushka is the contributing Fashion Editor for L'Uomo Vogue and Vogue Italia and now, we consider her part of the Charles David family. She has worked with us on our last two campaigns; the most recent one shot by Francesco Carrozzini, featuring Model-To-Watch, Luisa Bianchin. Along with suitcases of fabulous designer wears and a talent beyond words, she brings an unparalleled level of energy to the set.
We sat down with her the other day to ask a few questions for The Chronicle's first Spotlight Series. We learned that Rushka has worked with some of the leading men in the entertainment biz, including Robert De Niro, Quentin Tarantino, Hugh Jackman, Morgan Freeman, Kobe Bryant, Shepart Fairey and Jay Z... just to name a few... but she was also the personal stylist of the late and great Michael Jackson (wow!) and acted as a creative consultant/costume designer for his planned "This Is It" concert tour.
Read on to learn more....
Charles David: How did you get into fashion? Where did you get your start and how did you end up as the fashion editor of L'Uomo Vogue/Vogue Italia?
Rushka Bergman: I studied fine art for seven years and always loved fashion and design. My passion for creative expression is clearly visible in my work. I am always influenced by the Renaissance masters, minimalism and today’s modern art. I met the editor in chief of Italian Vogue after a Chanel show and that’s how I started to work for the magazine.
CD: You've styled a ton of celebs for the magazine. Who has been your favorite to work with and why?
RB: My favorite person was Michael Jackson. I was very privileged to meet him, and then work with him, the most genius artist that this planet will ever see. As much as I worked with him, I learned from him. The more I watched him and heard him, the more I loved him. No artist on Earth can compare to his inner and outer beauty. I met so many stars, but nobody was close to Michael. He was always ahead of everybody else, simply magic.
CD: What female celebrity has the best style hands down?
RB: For me, Marlene Dietrich was the most classic, elegant, sophisticated and timeless icon of all time. Today, the celebrities with the best style are Emmanuelle Seigner, Tilda Swinton, Kate Winslet and Angelina Jolie.
CD: What do you see as the top fashion trends for women in Spring/Summer '11?
RB: Stripes, colors and 70s chic.
CD: You've worked with us for the past two seasons. What do you like most about the Charles David brand?
RB: The impeccable design of Charles David shoes. The quality of the leather is exceptional, and the styles are classic yet young and modern.
CD: We had so much fun on this recent shoot. What was your favorite moment?
RB: When the model, Luisa, stepped out in the white suit and white, perforated leather Charles David shoes and rocked the Great Gatsby inspiration.
CD: What is your most favorite shoe of the campaign & why?
RB: The perforated, leather oxford heels - the SPIRE model - were the most beautiful, forward design, and so timeless.
CD: If you could sum up your style in one word, how would you describe it?
CD: What is your next big project?
RB: I just styled Usher for the 2011 Grammy Awards. My several upcoming projects are top-secret but you will be hearing about them very soon!
Hollywood's biggest night brought out this year's best talent. The King's Speech, Inception, The Fighter and Black Swan came out on top as the evening's big winners at the 83rd Academy Awards. For Best Supporting Actress, the Oscar went to Melissa Leo for her acclaimed performance in boxing drama, The Fighter.
94 year-old, Kirk Douglas, welcomed Melissa to the stage with a compliment, "you're pretty good looking yourself". Melissa traded in her brassy character for a softer look, shining in a custom-made Marc Bouwer lace gown complimented with Charles David SNIPER platform heels.

Our good friends at People Stylewatch sent us this photo posted above. To grab people's attention during Fashion Week, the magazine wrapped pages of its March issue around a prominent building in Times Square. Look carefully to see who made the wall!... our GRAYDEN is well over 2 feet tall soaring above the hustle and bustle of New York City.
Thanks PSW! We appreciate the love.
In return, here's a song lyric that comes to mind to take you through the day -
"These vagabond shoes. They're longing to stray. Right through the very heart of it - New York. New York." - Frank Sinatra
