A few weeks ago, before all of the fabulous Spring/Summer 2012 collections debuted at New York Fashion Week, Modellounge teamed up with Charles David for a model prep event presented by Nimble by Balance Bar. Top models were offered the opportunity to get helpful tips so they could rock it on the runways of NYFW 2011. Fashion designer Prabal Gurung and Teen Vogue's Laura Bonomo were on site to help the NYFW beauties, while runway coach Mac Folkes ran a catwalk class using all different Charles David shoes at wonderful, towering heights (to make the beautiful models even taller!). It was a fantastic event, and we're so happy we were able to help and participate. Congrats to all of the models who walked the runways in NYC! Stay tuned for more pictures and view the video of the event here.
Last week, we held a challenge for all of our Facebook and Twitter fans. We asked, "How do you wear white after Labor Day?" With so many great replies, it was hard to chose just one winner! Ultimately, we chose our winner...dun da da daaa, drumroll please! ...TAMIKA from Alexandria, VA! We think Tamika did a fantastic job of showing us a simple way of bringing white into a fall wardrobe fashionably. Her crisp white blazer really stands out against a black blouse and trousers. Wearing a neutral-colored shoe (yes, black is a neutral color!) helps to make this look fall appropriate. We would also recommend throwing in some leopard accessories, like a sassy thin belt or small handbag, for an extra punch of trendy fall style. Congrats to Tamika and thank you to everyone who participated in the challenge! Here's a little more about our winner and her fashion style:
Fashion style: Tamika loves classic looks with an edge. Adding a twist to her looks with color, accessories and mixing unexpected pieces is her self-proclaimed specialty.
On breaking fashion faux pas: "Taking a fashion risk is exciting and tests a girl's confidence and courage," says Tamika, "and can often pay off - you can become a style icon!"

Tamika is the Director of Science and Research for a member association and lives in Alexandria, VA. She is also the author of her own fashion blog, Fast In Together. Follow her on Facebook and Twitter for more.
Stay tuned for more fashion challenges!
This past June, Nylon TV and Charles David teamed up to create a fabulous crocket-themed film inspired by The Great Gatsby. We featured 2 of our fav summer styles, the Jesta and the Spire, and had a contest for our fans to win those two styles. Our fashionable winner, Kira, loved her new freebie shoes so much that she sent us these fantastic, uber precious pics. Seriously, how fab-u-lous is she?!! We ADORE the way she styled her vintage-inspired garb with our shoes to create a chic, feminine look. We just had to share these pics!! Hope you enjoy :)

Take a cue from Cameron Diaz in our Who What Wear Look of the Day and give your wardrobe a pop with patent!
Cameron's summer whites (mixed with a dash of cherry) work well with a glossy, nude sandal like our TRACY. When worn with a skirt or a pair of shorts, it elongates the leg and highlights the foot. If you're heading out on an evening date or a girl's night, a stronger punch may be in order. Choose this heel in grey or black patent to rock your look.
Warning! This shoe is likely to attract attention. Make sure your polish is fresh and ready.

We found a post on ShoesWeWant.com dedicated to Charles David's "Versatile Summer Classics". Their picks for a polished yet casual look – the CLEMSON wedge and GRATUITY sandal. With these neutrals, "simple outfits look a little fresher". The versatility of these shades allow you to pair them "with a
flash of neon (we love nude with pink) or a floral print".
While on this blog, we read their 'About' statement: This is a blog about shoes. Shoes we want, maybe some shoes we own, and
probably occasionally some shoes we really, really hate. We like shoes
and people who like shoes. So if you like shoes, are we are guessing
you do because here you are at blog called shoeswewant.com, then we
already have something in common. Just for that and, of course, their flattering dedication, we are now followers.
This month our Who What Wear Look Of The Day spotlights Jameela Jamil, a rising London fashion icon, out shopping in a fabulous, yet comfortable, turquoise wedge.
This newcomer has hit the U.K. and U.S. scene as a television personality/model but is making the biggest mark with her style. She mixes and matches separates with confidence and a sensibility that is young, fresh and unique. Here she sports a light floral shirt with a pair of cutoffs and a brimmed hat. For us, it's the shoe that takes her look from stylish to extraordinary. Don't you agree?
If you like Jameela's look, check out the Charles David ULLITA wedge sandal. It comes in your choice of brown and turquoise. While the brown works well with most of our wardrobe, the latter is our favorite to punch up a Summer outfit for a hot, hot day.

Thanks to Nylon Magazine, we're shooting a TV episode today in a local NYC park. Think Daisy Buchanan/Mia Farrow a la "The Great Gatsby" as inspired by our Spring/Summer campaign. The segment will air later this month (don't worry, we'll keep you posted on the exact date) but here's a quick behind-the-scenes look at our shoot in progress.
Get your Charles David shoes polished up! Croquet season is about to begin.
